Murdock Grant

Straub Environmental Center is pleased to announce we received a $59,000 grant over a three year period from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust to pay for a new Program Coordinator! We are very excited for this generous gift from M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust that will help pay for our new Program Coordinator, Nichole Rose. Nichole’s experience, background and knowledge of environmental education and her love of the earth will make her a valuable asset to the organization in her new role. Be sure to congratulate Nichole the next time you see her! Her new job will start on July 1, 2014.

The M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust was created by the will of the late Melvin J. (Jack) Murdock, who was a cofounder of Tektronix, Inc. of Beaverton, Oregon and a resident of Vancouver, Washington. The Trust’s mission is to enrich the quality of life in the Pacific Northwest by providing grants to organizations that seek to strengthen the region’s educational, cultural and spiritual base in creative and sustainable ways.
