Passport to Nature: Iron Mountain Wildflower Hike

June 25

Join native plant expert John Savage for a beautiful alpine wildflower hike. Iron Mountain (near Sweet Home) has over 300 different species amid stands of trees and meadows.  Straub Environmental Center educators will lead a 4 to 5 mile hike for adults to view the flowers along the Cone Peak trail and a separate scavenger hunt for kids on the short Tombstone Prairie trail.  Starts: 8 am; Ends: 5 pm. Bring food and water.  Cost is $5 per person (includes a field notebook).  Children 5 and under are free.  Open to the public; pre-registration is required.  To register and for more information, call 503-779-5414 or email info@straubenvironmentalcenter.org.
